Real Deal Meditation:In Retrospect

In Retrospect

I am so happy that I have written this series of posts about heaven, earth and the observer.  Today I was writing another post called Don’t Be Fooled by the Fake Observer (or something like that) but, it felt incomplete because it seemed like something was missing from my idea of heaven, earth and observer.  I decided to put it down and come back to it later.

So tonight, while watching television with my wife, in the back of my mind I was still thinking about this whole complete thought about heaven (soul) earth (ego) and observer (higher-self).  Then, an image came into my mind of a triangle with a dot of light in the center. That dot touched every side of the triangle.

The triangle made sense to me right away. It was the trinity:  the father, son, and the holy ghost; or the mind, body and spirit…my heaven, earth and observer. There are tons of them in our culture.  But when I saw this image I was curious about the circle in the center.  If you’re reading this you might be saying, “Duh Bob, of all people you should know this!” But I was fitting the image together with my thoughts and wanted to write about it. I am going to call the circle of light the universal true-self.

It is not that this post is giving you any more information, it is the feeling of truth that I have flowing through me.  It’s not, about let’s put some smart words together and post them. This is just something being shared through me to you.  What is amazing me is the force and clarity with which this image came through to me and inspired me to write. The missing piece filled in.

Each point of the triangle (heaven, earth, observer) has its purpose and it is the center that balances the whole.  Each point is needed to complete the triangle of self. The center is the combination of all of them, the universal true-self.  Find the center, balance the self, be your universal true-self.

Real Deal Meditation: Recognizing the Observer

Recognizing the Observer

I have talked to you over the last couple of weeks about heaven (soul) and earth (ego) and the observer (higher-self).  I can only explain how I see it. I have been meditating for a very long time now and over the years I have fine tuned my mind to see through the observer’s eyes. But the observer has always been there.

Long ago, before I was meditating or had even heard about meditation, I experienced the observer (my higher self) through my gut.  It was a raw physical feeling. My gut would act up when I was in danger or under stress. I was living a wild life and constantly putting myself and my body in danger. My gut kept speaking up and I ignored it for a long time. Eventually it started to scream and my Crohn’s Colitis manifested.  Then I could not ignore it any longer. My observer (higher self) protected me through my gut and helped me find a new path.

When I started meditating I started to see how my mind and thoughts worked in everyday life.  In the beginning I would see certain thoughts and actions that would hamper my path, but usually I would notice them after they’d happened.  As I put more time toward meditating, I started to see these thoughts and actions right as they were happening.  Then after a while and more practice, I started to see the thoughts and possible actions before I would react.  I found that I could stop a thought and choose a different action or thought before they took me somewhere that wasn’t healthy for me.  Now I can choose my actions to best fit the situations that I’m in.  Now I watch each situation and ask, “What is this teaching me and how is this going to fit into my overall creation called my life?”  This is all observer.

Fine tuning your mind by using meditation allows you to see through the eyes of the observer.  The observer’s job is simply to observe.  It’s observing your heaven, your earth, and your universe.  Using the observer helps you pick and choose from the mass amount of information from soul, ego, and universe, and collect what you need to manifest your life.

The observer is also my quiet place.  It is my safe place where I can shut out the inside and outside worlds.  It is the place where I can go and be who I truly am and that is pure energy.  I can just sit in this pool of energy without having to channel it anywhere.

This is the best that I can describe how my observer works for me.  I hope that maybe this post will help you to see through your observer’s eyes.

Real Deal Meditation: The Observer: Understanding Two Worlds

The Observer: Understanding Two Worlds

My last two posts have talked about heaven (soul), earth (ego) and the observer (higher self). The observer is what connects us to both worlds and each world to the other and oversees the two worlds.

The observer is like a neutral spectator. At birth the observer watches heaven (soul) step aside so we can participate in earth’s lessons.  As we grow our lessons become stronger to prepare us to survive on earth without a parent feeding us or clothing us.  The soul is shown to us in different ways through the culture we live in but in some instances, in some cultures the ego disguises itself as soul so the lessons of earth ring supreme.  Unchecked, the ego carries out plans to gather power on earth.

On the other hand, the soul is our home in eternity.  If our soul overpowers us without the proper balance from ego, we are never comfortable here on earth, always looking to go home and never satisfied.

My story on this is that we are humans.  We are a blend of soul and ego. Usually for the first half of our lives we survive and we create the tools we need in ego to keep our human body alive.  We keep the human race growing through reproduction.  We learn to feed ourselves, clothe ourselves, and create shelter.  We create like minded groups of people and call them cultures. Ego makes the human race survive.  Soul makes the human race thrive.  Soul is what gives our culture meaning. Soul balances the ego by taking us to a level above animals.

For some people, during the last half of life we start looking for what is missing.  The house is paid for, the kids are out of the house and we don’t have to learn any more lessons to survive.  We realize something’s missing and buy stuff to fill that hole to no avail.  We start to feel that nothing of this earth is going to fill what’s missing.

That feeling is the observer saying it’s time to balance heaven and earth.  It’s time to bring us back from survival to grace.  I believe we come in as heaven, live on earth and go out as heaven once more.  The observer is reminds us about our true home. The observer keeps us connected and gets us ready for the trip back to heaven.

Meditation, prayer or any activity that brings you to silence the mind is the key. It is tuning into the observer.  By strengthening your connection to the observer it brings you closer to finding balance between your soul and ego.  It is being your true higher self.  Remember you come in as heaven, you live as earth, and you go out as heaven.  Align with the observer, find the balance, and find your true self.
